At Paseo on University, we are committed to supporting our residents through changing immigration policies. Our Visa Exit Clause offers flexibility and protection to international students whose visa status unexpectedly changes.

Visa Exit Clause Terms

No early termination penalties if your F-1 or J-1 visa is denied or not renewed.

Official government documentation must be submitted for review by property management.

30-day written notice to vacate is required.

If a co-leaseholder is not affected, the clause does not apply. A roommate change addendum will be required to release the affected resident.

Final I-20 Issuance Date for Spring 2026 Semester: December 12, 2025

Start your F-1 Visa Renewal Process Early

You can apply up to 12 months before your visa expiration date.

1. Prepare Required Documents

Valid passport (6+ months beyond your stay)

DS-2019 form with current travel signature

Proof of financial support

Updated invitation/offer letter from your academic department

SEVIS I-901 fee receipt

DS-160 confirmation page

Other supporting materials (transcripts, diplomas, etc., as required by consulate)

2. Schedule Your Visa Interview

Book at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in your home country

Wait times can be long, so it is best to schedule as early as possible

3. Understand Processing Times

ASU ISSC processing: 7 business days (may take longer in peak season)

Visa interview processing: Up to 60+ days depending on location

USCIS document processing: Typically 2–4 months

Administrative review: If flagged, allow up to 180 days for a response

4. Know Your Rights & Responsibilities

F-1 Visa Validity: Tied to your I-20 and student status

Port of Entry Stamp: Must be valid and marked appropriately

60-day grace period post-program completion

I-515A form: You must respond within 30 days if issued
